FAQ

Daily Dog Walks - What happens in rain or if very cold/hot outside?

If the weather is poor, we will still allow your dog(s) access outside to do their needed business. We would take an umbrella to shelter your pet(s) from the rain to help entice them to go out. Leaving towels for drying and warming your pet would be helpful. On those hot summer days, we would make sure they are well hydrated.

What if the weather is too severe?

In the event of severe weather, such as a tornado, flood, or hurricane, we request on your agreement the name and phone number of a person living nearby. If we are physically unable to reach your home due to impassable roads, please provide us with this information so we can contact this person to request their assistance. Your pet(s)' health and well-being is our utmost concern, and we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events.

Oops! I ran out of pet food. Can you buy some?

Yes, we will also need to know what type of food your pet(s) eats. We will charge an additional fee and leave you the receipt(s) showing the amount we need to be reimbursed; please review the Fee Schedule to look up this fee by your Zip code.

What do you do with the pet waste?

We will be happy to dispose of the waste for you.

What about fences?

Fenced in yards are wonderful places for dogs and allows them additional space to exercise and play. However, no fence system is totally secure. We do not accept responsibility or liability for any animals that escape or become lost, injured (including fatal) when instructed to leave your pet in a fenced area; we are also not liable for any contact or harm with other pet(s) or people your animal(s) may encounter while unsupervised. This included all fence types.

Do you walk dogs on a leash?

Yes.

What about interaction with other dogs or animals?

Animal behavior can be unpredictable. We will not permit your dog(s) to interact with strange dogs. If stray un-leased dogs approach, we will do our best to keep interaction at a minimum and move away from them quickly as possible. We do not accept responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention required by ourselves or the animals.

Oops! What happens if an accident happens?

We will clean up after your pets to the best of our ability. Please inform us of the designated area for appropriate cleaning supplies.

What do we provide for the pet sitter?

Your pet(s) will need food, treats, toys, their leash & collar, garbage bags, litter & scoop, drying towel, paper towels, cleaning supplies, and any special medical instructions and medications.

What if I return home early?

Please notify us immediately as soon as you arrive. If we make a visit and find you home, that visit charge will still apply.

What if we need to cancel?

We understand your plans change, and we do not charge a cancellation fee with adequate notice. Please understand that pet sitting services and kennels receive more requests for reservations than they can handle during peak periods, and we may have turned away other clients because we have reserved time for you. Please notify us of cancellations as soon as possible. If you cancel 24 hours or less prior to the date of the first visit, a cancellation fee will apply; please review the Fee Schedule to look up this fee by your Zip code.

How do I make future reservations?

We prefer email to petsnothomealone@gmail.com. Then we have a printout of exactly the dates and times you need. You may also call us at 281-216-3169.

We are back! Should we let you know?

Yes, we do worry. Please call us at 281-216-3169 or email us at petsnothomealone@gmail.com to let us know you arrived. We just want to make sure your pets are taken well care of if something unexpected should happen.
